Installation Procedures For MemInfo Demo

The recommended minimum computer configuration is a Pentium 133 processor with 32Mb of RAM and Windows 95 or higher. It will work with a lesser configuration, but with difficulty. As is true with all Windows programs, programs perform better with faster processors and more RAM. 10Mb of disk space is required. MemInfo will work fine in a networked environment.

Installation:

You can download the files to any temporary directory or directly to the Desktop. The file is MemDemo.exe. The User Manual is installed with the program.

After you have downloaded the file, to install the program in Windows:

  1. From the Start button menu choose Run.
  2. Type \temp\memdemo where temp is the temporary directory where the program is stored, or double click on the Setup icon on the desktop.
  3. Click the OK button.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen. It will ask you to specify the Drive and Directory where you want MemInfo to be stored; you may leave the answer that is provided (c:\program files\meminfo) and just click the OK button.
  5. You can now run the program by clicking the desktop icon or by choosing Start and Programs, and then choosing MemInfo.

Manuals

We provide the full manual in Adobe Acrobat format. You can print it out or search it using your Acrobat program. If requested, the installation program will create the file memuser.pdf. To start Acrobat, just run the memuser.pdf file. If it doesn't work you need to download the free Acrobat program.

The demonstration version of MemInfo is fully operational. The only difference between this version and the purchased version is that you are limited to creating 30 families. The demonstration version also comes pre-loaded with some fictitious families.

After Installation

After you install MemInfo just take the Walking Tour which introduces you to various features of the program.

MemInfo is self-contained in its own directory (C:\Program Files\MemInfo by default). To un-install MemInfo, run unwise.exe in the meminfo directory.

The "trial" version of this program may be used at no cost, only for the purpose of evaluating MemInfo for purchase or for congregations with less than 30 on the mailing list. We would appreciate it if you would recommend the trial version to other organizations, so that they too can evaluate it. Thank you.
